The Role
We are seeking a fun, dynamic Chief Finance and I.T. Officer with a people-first approach and fresh ideas to join our client's senior leadership team. This is a hands-on role combining strategic financial leadership (85%) with technology oversight (15%).
Reporting directly to the CEO, you'll be responsible for ensuring financial integrity, strategic planning, and digital resilience while managing a team of finance and I.T. professionals.
Key Responsibilities
Finance (85%)
* Provide strategic financial leadership and insights to the CEO and Board
* Lead accurate financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and analysis
* Manage balance sheet and ensure strong financial governance
* Prepare monthly management accounts, statutory accounts, and audits
* Maintain financial controls and risk management frameworks
* Ensure compliance with charity and tax regulations
* Support pricing models, capital expenditure proposals, and commercial contracts
* Oversee procurement and financial controls across multiple sites
I.T. (15%)
* Lead technology strategy to support operational efficiency and growth
* Manage relationships with external I.T. providers
* Oversee implementation, maintenance, and security of core systems
* Ensure data protection, cyber security, and compliance
* Identify digital innovation and process improvement opportunities
* Support integration of management systems and customer-facing technology
Leadership
* Line manage a multidisciplinary team of five finance and I.T. professionals
* Foster a collaborative, high-performing culture of continuous improvement
* Contribute to organisational strategy as part of the senior leadership team
* Develop effective relationships with site managers and internal stakeholders
Person Specification
Essential:
* Proven experience in senior finance leadership
* Recognised accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA)
* Experience managing I.T. operations or working with technology providers
* Track record of delivering financial insights that drive performance and growth
* Strong leadership and people management skills
* Experience with financial forecasting, budgeting, and reporting
* Excellent understanding of financial compliance and charity governance
* Strong communication skills - able to explain complex information clearly
* Experience leading and developing high-performing teams
* Experience working with Boards and senior stakeholders
Highly Desirable:
* Experience in membership, hospitality, multi-site or leisure industry
* Knowledge of venue management systems or EPOS solutions
* Experience managing external suppliers and contracts
* Experience working collaboratively with sales and marketing functions
* Auditing experience
* Experience of working with charitable missions and social impact initiatives
* Passion for sport, community engagement, or charitable initiatives
