Quantity Surveyor – Social Housing (Responsive Repairs & Voids)
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join a commercial team working on a long-term Social Housing framework contract. This role plays a key part in delivering commercial performance across responsive repairs and void works within tenanted properties.
The position offers a high level of autonomy, allowing the successful candidate to make a real impact while working collaboratively within an inclusive and supportive team environment. The role is hybrid, with a mix of home/office working and site presence.

The Role
The Quantity Surveyor will be responsible for obtaining and evaluating information to ensure realistic and competitive costs for the supply of works, goods, materials, and services across designated refurbishment and project contracts. The role involves close liaison with contractors, suppliers, and clients to ensure costs, value, and profitability align with contractual requirements.
Key responsibilities include:

Assisting in the preparation, processing, and selection of estimates, bids, and tenders to demanding timescales

Supporting the development of procurement programmes
*
Preparing and monitoring cash flow forecasts
*
Submitting monthly applications for payment and valuation reports
*
Invoicing certified values and ensuring timely payment
*
Valuing and authorising subcontractor payments
*
Liaising with Contract Managers to agree project specifications and requirements
*
Attending and contributing to internal and client meetings
*
Monitoring contract progress and reporting changes impacting cost or programme
*
Assisting with the control of contract budgets
About the Candidate
The ideal candidate will have proven experience working as a Quantity Surveyor within the Social Housing sector, ideally across multiple contracts. Experience with responsive repairs is a strong advantage.
A solid understanding of JCT and Measured Term Contracts is essential, along with experience of Price per Property (PPP) models. Strong attention to detail, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and a high level of IT proficiency (particularly MS Office) are required.
A full UK driving licence is essential due to travel requirements, and the role will be subject to a DBS check.
