Location: Watford
Salary: £33,000 – £45,000 (based on experience)
Start Date: September 2025
We are working with a well-regarded secondary school in Watford, celebrated for its strong academic results, inclusive values, and supportive learning community.
The school is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Science Teacher to join their team full-time from September 2025. This role welcomes both experienced teachers and Early Career Teachers (ECTs) who are passionate about making science engaging, accessible, and relevant for all students.
Key Responsibilities
Teach Science to Key Stage 3 and 4 students, ideally specialising in Biology, Chemistry, or Physics
Deliver interactive, practical lessons that encourage curiosity and scientific inquiry
Create a positive, inclusive classroom where students feel motivated to explore and ask questions
Assess student work, provide constructive feedback, and monitor progress
Support curriculum development and resource preparation
Guide students through GCSE coursework and revision sessions
Promote participation in extracurricular science activities and STEM initiatives
Engage with the school community and contribute to school life
Candidate Requirements
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent (strong unqualified candidates may be considered)
Experience teaching secondary-level Science
Strong subject knowledge and enthusiasm for science education
Creative, engaging, and student-centred teaching approach
Effective classroom management and ability to build a supportive learning environment
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one
