GSL Education are currently recruiting a passionate and knowledgeable Science Teacher to join a supportive and forward-thinking school in Chesterfield.
As a Science Teacher, you will lead engaging lessons across all Key Stages, nurturing scientific curiosity and academic success. You will become a valued member of a collaborative science department that strives for high achievement and continuous development.
Role Responsibilities:
* Plan and deliver engaging lessons in Biology, Chemistry, and Physics tailored to different learning needs.
* Create a stimulating classroom environment that encourages curiosity and independent thinking.
* Prepare students for GCSE examinations using structured and differentiated approaches.
* Assess, track, and report on student progress with clear and actionable feedback.
* Support curriculum development and participate in departmental improvement initiatives.
* Maintain alignment with national curriculum standards and uphold school policies.
* Promote a safe, inclusive, and respectful learning atmosphere.
Candidate Requirements:
* Hold UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a specialist in Science.
* Possess strong subject knowledge in Biology, Chemistry, or Physics, and confidence teaching across all sciences.
* Previous classroom experience in a school setting is preferred but not essential.
* Effective communication, behaviour management, and organisational skills.
* Flexibility to respond to a variety of classroom and learner needs.
* Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one).
