Outwood Academy Redcar is looking to appoint a driven and skilled professional as Head of Mathematics. Whether you are a current Head of Department, a Second in Department, or an ambitious teacher looking for the next step up, if you have the talent, we have the support you need to thrive.

About Outwood Academy Redcar: A Leader in Inclusion

Outwood Academy Redcar is a forward-thinking 11-16 academy located in the coastal town of Redcar. Our Teaching & Learning Model

Our approach is built on a foundation of relational practice, ensuring that every student feels safe, valued, and ready to learn. As a leader here, you will help embed a clear framework that prioritises:

* Regulate, Relate, Reason: We recognise that students must feel a sense of connection before they can engage with cognitive reasoning.
* Restorative Practice: We focus on repairing relationships through high challenge accompanied by high support.
* The 5 Pillars: Our classroom practice is structured around five key pillars—Clarity of Intentions, Recap & Recall, New Information, Practice, and Feedback—providing consistency and clarity for all learners.


Leading the Department

You will be an excellent teacher with the experience to deliver in KS3 and KS4, but more importantly, you will have the leadership qualities to challenge individuals within your team whilst supporting them to achieve outstanding results. You will lead a well-equipped department operating out of seven classrooms based in a dedicated maths wing.

* Unrivalled Support: Becoming Head of Maths in this amazing school is a rewarding challenge. From your first day, you’ll have a very experienced mentor from our School Improvement Team to guide you, alongside phenomenal support from our Principal and Senior Leadership team.
* Strategic Collaboration: We are committed to delivering the best possible mathematics curriculum. You will work strategically with Trust mathematics leaders, a network of outstanding Heads of Mathematics, and Senior Leaders across the Outwood Family of Schools.
* Driving Success: You will play a crucial role in contributing substantially to the ongoing success of GCSE outcomes, providing effective support to colleagues to achieve the best possible outcomes for all students.
