Overview
Chaplain - Hub Lead (Anglican Ordained) – part-time, 22.5 hours a week. Chaplaincy at the University of Chester are seeking an experienced chaplain to lead our busy Community Hub that serves as a drop-in space for students, with creative spaces, community eating spaces and a wellbeing garden.
The Hub Lead role requires someone with strategic vision, leadership & organisational skills, creativity and a passion for the work we do. The postholder will oversee all the work in the Hub and will be responsible for setting priorities and supporting the team to enable the Hub to work efficiently and to best meet the needs of students and staff.
Responsibilities
* Line management responsibilities for the Assistant Hindu Chaplain and the Christian Chaplain who lead activities in the Hub; develop the team through volunteers and placement opportunities.
* Take responsibility day-to-day for the pastoral needs that arise in the Hub, including dealing with complex situations and supporting people in crisis.
* Report to the Senior Chaplain and work closely with them to develop the ongoing strategic vision for Chaplaincy.
* Deputise for the Senior Chaplain as required and demonstrate excellent communications skills, including forming strategic internal and external partnerships, delivering presentations, and participating in discussions with a wide range of stakeholders.
* As an ordained Anglican Chaplain, lead the University Chapel and support the Christian community through regular rhythm of prayer and worship, and lead key chapel services.
Qualifications
* Ordained Anglican Chaplain holding a Diocesan Licence.
* Experience in leading teams and developing staff and volunteers.
* Significant experience in dealing with complex pastoral situations and supporting people in crisis.
* Excellent communications skills and ability to form strategic internal and external partnerships, deliver presentations, and engage with diverse stakeholders.
