Join our organization as a residential home manager to support children and young people in our homes.
Responsibilities
* Lead the team to deliver high‑quality care to our young people
* Ensure that all risks are safely managed in line with company policies and procedures
* Communicate effectively with the team regarding the plans for the day
* Review the young people’s care plans and other associated documentation
* Participate in an in‑depth quality and bespoke training package
* Attend or chair staff meetings and be proactive in developing and improving the service model
* Act as an advocate for the young person while using a positive parenting model
* Work with young people using positive support strategies, including de‑escalation tools and techniques (PRICE training)
* Provide support to the Manager in completing day‑to‑day tasks
* Run the home in the absence of the Manager
* Complete on‑call duties as and when required
Qualifications
* Positive parenting experience
* Exceptional communication skills
* Sound working knowledge of current legislation (e.g., Children’s Homes Regulations 2015, including quality standards)
* Experience in supporting and supervising staff teams
* Must be prepared to complete a Diploma Level 5 Children’s Residential Care
* Open‑minded, empathetic, calm and professional manner
* Ability to attend meetings on behalf of the Manager in a professional manner
* Full manual driving licence required
* Fully flexible and able to work unsociable shift patterns
* Level 3 Diploma for Residential Childcare or equivalent
* Desire to develop into a Registered Children’s Home Manager
* Commitment to further continuing professional development supporting the needs of our young people
* Clear passion and desire to support children and young people
* Active member of a progressive and committed team
