Establsihed globally across the Wind, Solar, Energy Storage, Green Hydrogen and Tranmission/Distribution industries - this business manage a significant existing operational giga-watt footprint, with a huge amount in the pipeline.
The role:
You'll be delivering scalable, secure and maintanable cloud-native solutions across cloud infrastructure, data platforms and application layers, whist translating architectural vision into executable technical designs and providing hands-on leadership to engineering teams.
What you'll be doing:
* Define and communicate architectural vision across multiple engineering teams.
* Design and implement scalable, cloud-native solutions with strong emphasis on
Databricks
(Delta Lake, MLflow, notebooks).
* Enable advanced analytics, data engineering, and machine learning workflows to support data-driven decision-making.
* Collaborate cross-functionally with product managers, data scientists, platform engineers, and developers.
* Provide hands-on guidance on architectural patterns and best practices.
* Conduct technical reviews to ensure alignment with security, compliance, and performance standards.
* Champion modular design, enterprise integration patterns, and API strategies.
* Drive DevOps adoption, CI/CD, and Infrastructure-as-Code practices.
* Evaluate and guide adoption of emerging technologies.
What you'll need:
* Cloud Architecture:
Azure-based design, security, identity, compliance
* Data Platforms:
Lakehouse architecture, OLTP/OLAP, batch & streaming systems, Databricks (Delta Lake, MLflow)
* Software Design:
Domain-driven design, event-driven architecture, distributed systems
* Engineering Practices:
Python or Node/TypeScript, CI/CD, Infrastructure-as-Code, API integration
* Leadership:
System design documentation, cross-team technical guidance
