Welcome to Redstone Hall School, a vibrant new establishment in Ipswich dedicated to creating a nurturing environment for pupils aged 5 to 18 with complex needs. With a capacity for up to 30 students, we prioritize a supportive atmosphere where every child feels valued and empowered.

Your Role and Responsibilities
As our SENCO, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the educational journey of our students. Your key responsibilities will include:
* Leading the strategic development of SEN policy and provision within the school.
* Designing and delivering targeted interventions to bridge attainment gaps.
* Assessing and monitoring pupil progress in line with their EHCPs.
* Conducting annual reviews and acting as a Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead.
* Collaborating with multi-agency teams and leading Early Help initiatives.
* Supporting looked-after children and liaising with parents and staff on individual learning plans.
* Coordinating the day-to-day operation of the SEN policy and maintaining accurate records.
* Providing guidance to colleagues on effective teaching programs and behavior management strategies.
* Overseeing intervention groups and evaluating their effectiveness.
* Ensuring smooth transitions for pupils moving to or from other schools.
* Promoting inclusion in the school community and access to all activities.
* Teaching commitment (50/50) with a preference for secondary experience, ideally in Science.
What We’re Looking For
To thrive in this role, you should meet the following qualifications:
* Qualified Teacher Status.
* National Award for SEN Co-ordination or a willingness to pursue the new NPQ for SENCOs.
* Experience in school self-evaluation and development planning.
* Background in teaching within an autism/SEMH school.
* Experience in delivering training and leading INSET.
* Strong knowledge of the SEND Code of Conduct.
* A commitment to ongoing professional development and a passion for learning.
