About the role:
As a Control Systems Engineer, you will be part of an innovative team supporting Westinghouse's mission to provide clean energy solutions. We value diversity and aim to attract the most qualified talent.
You will report to the Customer Solutions Manager UK ICS and be based in Gateshead.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Review customer specifications and create technical documentation for instrumentation and control systems design for new plant and upgrade projects.
2. Develop hardware design documentation such as cabinet layout drawings, cable/wiring schematics, and PCB layouts.
3. Perform functional design, implementation, testing, and site commissioning of control logic.
4. Support the creation of documentation for procurement and manufacturing.
5. Resolve technical issues, including obsolescence.
6. Develop test procedures and execute functional tests.
7. Support customers with installation and technical issues.
Qualifications:
1. At least 5+ years of industry experience, with at least 2 years at Engineer level, preferably in the nuclear or a highly regulated sector.
2. Bachelor’s degree or higher preferred.
3. Chartered Member of the IET (preferred).
4. Legally eligible to work in the UK.
5. Detailed knowledge of standards, regulations, codes, and directives.
6. Strong knowledge in producing Technical Files for new products, plants, and equipment.
Willingness to travel domestically and internationally.
Proficient in Microsoft Office.
Ability to work efficiently under tight deadlines on multiple tasks with extensive documentation.
