Job Description We are looking for a reliable and proactive Site Assistant to join the facilities team at a well-established school in Essex. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong work ethic and a commitment to ensuring the school site is safe, clean, and well maintained for students, staff, and visitors. As a Site Assistant, you will carry out a range of duties including security, maintenance, minor repairs, and site management. You will support the day-to-day running of the school premises and contribute to creating a positive and safe learning environment. Key Responsibilities Support the day-to-day management of the school premises Carry out routine maintenance, minor repairs, and site checks Ensure the school site is clean, safe, and secure at all times Oversee site security, including locking and unlocking the premises Assist with setting up for school events and activities Monitor and manage site health and safety procedures Liaise with contractors and external providers when necessary Respond to emergency situations promptly and effectively Qualifications and Experience Previous experience in a site, caretaker, or facilities role (desirable) Practical skills in general maintenance and repairs Strong understanding of health and safety procedures Reliable, flexible, and able to work independently Good communication and teamwork skills Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people School Staff Direct is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
