Join our Team: Production Operative (Machine Shop)

Join our team at Terex and embark on an exciting opportunity as we seek a skilled and dedicated Production Operative to contribute to the Terex Dungannon Machine Shop team.

Position: Production Operative (Machine Shop)

Location: Dungannon

Reporting to: Production Supervisor

Hours of Work: 39 hours per week

What you will do

You will play a pivotal role within the Machine Shop Team, working as a production operative helping to create equipment that helps improve the lives of people around the world.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

1. Set up and operate press brakes, plasma cutters, CNC machines and laser cutting systems to produce parts.
2. Interpret engineering drawings, work orders, nesting layouts, and CNC programs to determine dimensions, tolerances, tooling, and sequencing.
3. Perform basic program editing/adjustments at the machine
4. Inspect fresh sheet metal for any imperfections or quality issues
5. Monitor metal quality as its being shaped
6. Meeting set targets whilst working on the production line
7. Adhering to strict quality targets
8. Working as part of a team to develop continuous improvement
9. To maintain compliance to all Health and Safety Regulations, identifying and reporting hazards, near misses and non-conformance.

What you will bring

10. Proven experience in a heavy manufacturing environment, preferably in screening & crushing, mobile plant, mining, quarrying, or heavy fabrication.
11. Proficiency operating press brakes, plasma, CNC, and laser machinery (multi‑process capability desirable).
12. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
13. Competence with CNC controls.
14. Strong measurement & inspection skills using common metrology tools.
15. Demonstrated commitment to HSE standards in a machine/fabrication shop.
16. Ability to work under pressure and be fully dependable and reliable.
17. Ability to use own initiative and work with minimal supervision.
