About The Team
The Enterprise Services team is an integral part of the ICT Services department, responsible for all elements of server and storage infrastructure that underpins our services, systems, and platforms for both internal and customer use. It is a multi-disciplined team that works closely with the other ICT Services teams and departments across the wider organisation.
About The Role
The ICT Patching and Compliancy Officer will play a key role within our Enterprise Services team to lead on maintaining our systems and infrastructure to agreed patch-levels by ensuring that vendor recommended actions to maintain up to date environments, interoperability and continued support is carried out in a timely manner. This will include the following type of activities:
* Firmware patching
* Firmware upgrades
* Operating system patching
* Operating system upgrades
* Recommended and security patches
* Monthly and quarterly patches
* Critical updates
* Emergency patches
For both on-site and cloud-based hosted services which includes the following up-to-date modern versions of:
* HP Server infrastructure
* LINUX operating systems
* Microsoft Server operating systems
* Microsoft SQL Server
* NetApp cluster-mode
* ONTAP
* SNAPCENTRE
* NetBackup
* Oracle
* CITRIX
* Direct Access
* Always on VPN
* VMWARE
Your Key Responsibilities
* Develop and execute patch management strategies for all ICT systems.
* Ensure all systems and software are updated promptly to mitigate security risks.
* Identify vulnerable software from the latest reports and quickly find ways to mitigate any risks.
* Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
* Collaborate with various departments to ensure the seamless deployment of patches and updates.
* Maintain meticulous records of patching activities and compliance status.
* Provide training and support to staff on compliance and patch management procedures.
* Stay abreast of the latest trends and developments in ICT security and compliance.
* Support the SOC / security team by responding to security incidents and escalations.
The role will require dealing with internal and external stakeholders at all levels across the organisation, so strong verbal and written (e-mail) communication skills will be required, along with a focus on providing excellent customer service.
Hours
37 hours per week.
