Description Overview
In this role, you will provide engineering support services to Manufacturing and Packing departments through effective execution of engineering improvements and by providing technical resource.
You will ensure that production machinery is fit for purpose and performing at the required standard to deliver the production plan.
Another aspect of the role will be to initiate and drive continuous improvement efforts in assigned process areas.
Scope of the Role
1. You will be responsible for the development and implementation of engineering improvements and functions as a production engineer by providing work direction to teams and allied support groups while interfacing with multiple departments, consultants, and contractors.
2. Perform engineering activities in support of design and construction of engineering solutions and performs complex engineering tasks in the development and implementation of equipment installations, process improvement, facility, utility, and maintenance.
3. Liaise with external departments to understand customer requirements and establish priorities. Provides communication with and feedback to external departments.
4. Organise and generates relevant data and prepares improvement plan scopes, cost estimates, economic justifications as required, to obtain management approval. Develops and recommends equipment purchases or modifications to improve plant productivity.
5. You will also undertake such other reasonable duties as may be required from time to time in order to support the Perrigo business.
Experience Required
6. Ability to handle any work-related pressure situations whilst remaining calm and approachable.
7. Able to interpret business priorities and translate into priorities for self & others.
8. Positive and flexible attitude towards own department and customers.
9. Aptitude to accept change culture.
10. Recognised Engineering Apprenticeship plus 2 years post qualification experience in pharmaceutical industry.
11. NVQ II in Mechanical Engineering (preferably with Electrical Module).
12. Good working knowledge of engineering related safety legislation i.e. PUWER.
13. Experience / knowledge of maintenance philosophies such as PPM, TPM.
14. Continuous improvement/lean manufacturing experience.
15. Knowledge of cGMP practices relating to Engineering.
16. NVQ III Supervision.
