Great things are happening in the Europe and Australia (EUAU) region. Each day, our 2,500 plus colleagues bring their passion to our offices, manufacturing sites, R&D center, and commercial/distributor markets across Europe, Australia, and New Zealand. We are energized by over 150 years of bringing people together with the food they love. With beloved brands Old El Paso, Häagen-Dazs, Nature Valley, Betty Crocker, Fibre One, Latina Fresh and more, we are on a mission to become the undisputed growth leader in food for EUAU. In a world that’s ever-changing, we look to stay ahead and seek people who share our love of food and are hungry to shape the future.
About the Job
This is a rare opportunity for a commercial excellence expert to help shape the future of General Mills’ distributor-led markets. As a key member of the newly established Distributor Center of Excellence (COE), you’ll play a central role in delivering the International Segment strategy and unlocking growth across Global Emerging Markets (GEMs).
Reporting to the Global Emerging Markets COE Distributor Director, you’ll help define what “great” looks like across our global distributor network — and then lead the execution required to make it real. From designing global standards and assessment frameworks to building scalable capability programs, this role sits at the heart of the “Good to Great” transformation.
This is a true build-and-transform role: ideal for a seasoned commercial leader who thrives on creating structure, embedding capability, and driving sustainable growth in complex, multi-market environments.
What your role is
Partner Assessment & Tiering Framework:
1. Establish tactical execution plans to deploy the proprietary Distributor Capability Assessment Framework, creating a standardised, data-driven methodology for evaluating partner performance and potential.
2. Create a clear framework and processes to provide an unbiased, global standard-bearer for partner assessment, ensuring the GEMs leadership team has objective and consistent information to evaluate and select distributors for the strategic Gold Tier.
3. Partner with the Distributor COE Finance Manager to integrate commercial and financial metrics into a holistic view of partner health, providing a complete picture for GEMs leaders to make decisions to meet the International Segment strategic goals.
Head of Mutual Capability Development:
4. Partner across GEMs to create a GMI Distributor Handbook, to serve as the central repository containing the definitive guide that codifies GEMs strategy through executional standards, best practices, and expectations for all partners.
5. Translate assessment findings into a prioritised roadmap of capability-building initiatives, designing scalable training and development programs to address the most critical gaps (e.g., advanced sales execution, data utilisation) in service of GEMs commercial execution goals
6. Partner across GEMs to develop and deploy the internal capability programs, accelerating the upskilling of our GEMs market teams to effectively manage the new Joint Business Plan process and engage in more sophisticated, data-driven partner conversations
What you will bring to the team
You’re a commercial transformation leader with 12+ years of experience in CPG/FMCG, with deep expertise in distributor-led business models. You’ve built and deployed distributor capability assessment frameworks before — and you know how to turn diagnostics into practical, high-impact capability programs with measurable ROI.
You bring strong strategic and analytical thinking, paired with the ability to design simple, scalable frameworks and processes that work across markets. Financially savvy, you understand P&L drivers and how commercial capability translates into sustainable performance.
A natural influencer and communicator, you build credibility quickly and align diverse stakeholders around a common goal. You’re objective and confident, making tough, data-led recommendations. Above all, you’re a builder — energised by growth, transformation, and developing both partners and people in complex global environments.
