20hrs Per Week Monday-Friday Hybrid Working Job Purpose. Responsible for supporting the Financial Controller and the Finance Officeer in the financial operations of the organisation, ensuring accurate record management and compliance with financial regulations. ​ Key Result Areas. ​ Maintain the rent accounting function and invoice all factored properties to secure accurate income and records. Undertake monthly payroll, making payments and notifying stakeholders of deductions to meet statutory deadlines. Undertake benefit related pension returns, acting as first point of contact for queries. Assist in production of monthly, and annual accounts by reconciling key balance sheet accounts and preparing analysis. Process and reconcile ledgers, bank and control accounts to keep balances accurate and audit ready. Prepare routine financial reports for managers to aid operational decision-making within guidelines. Apply financial regulations and procedures, interpreting guidance to resolve queries and escalate unusual matters. Liaise with internal teams and external bodies to obtain information and resolve queries on time. Prepare service‑charge (factoring) budgets, invoicing, repairs recharges, and arrears, ensuring accurate financial records and compliance with factoring regulations. Provide financial support to housing team and handle owner queries related to charges, payments, and account balances. Oversee and provide support and cover for Finance Assistants, maintain customer accounts, and manage purchase‑ledger activities. Safeguard financial data and records to protect confidentiality and integrity. Undertake any other duties as reasonably required to support the organisation. ​ Key Relationships - Internal & External​ ​ All Teams Finance Contractors Suppliers 3rd party providers HMRC Pension provider External auditors. ​ Health & Safety ​ Ensure that Health and Safety guidelines and fire regulations are strictly adhered to. Comply with safe working practices as defined by Almond Housing Association. Complete online training as and when required. Take part in progress/performance reviews throughout the year. Cooperate with other Almond Housing Association departments to achieve good outcomes for our residents, applicants, colleagues, and contractors. Attend training courses and complete online training modules as required to meet the requirements of the post. Take responsibility for own personal development, seeking out opportunities to learn new skills. Undertake any other duties as requested by management which are reasonably deemed to be within the scope of the role or necessary for the smooth running of the business. Other ​ Apply the Almond Housing Association values and behaviours to every aspect of the role at all times Protect and enhance the interests and reputation of Almond Housing internally and externally. ​ Person Specification ​ Essential (E) Desirable (D) ​ Qualifications and specific training ​ Part Qualified Accountant (I.e. CIMA/ACCA) or Qualified by experience (E) ​ Experience ​ Substantial experience of assisting in the production of monthly, and annual accounts, reconciling key balance sheet accounts and undertaking monthly payroll to statutory deadlines (E) ​ Significant experience of processing and reconciling ledgers, bank and control accounts, maintaining rent accounting and preparing routine financial reports (E) ​ Demonstrable experience of applying financial regulations, expenses, inputting finance system data and liaising with internal and external stakeholders (E) ​ Knowledge ​ Detailed understanding of reconciling balance sheet accounts and statutory payroll (E) ​ Understanding of financial regulations, compliance, audit readiness and finance system data entry (E) ​ Understanding of data protection and liaison requirements with HMRC, auditors and banks (E) ​ Detailed understanding of rent accounting, invoicing for factored properties and ledger reconciliation (D) ​ Skills ​ Highly developed skill in administering payroll cycles and ensuring statutory compliance (E) ​ Developed skill in executing ledger, bank and control account reconciliations accurately (E) ​ Developed IT skills (E) ​ Developed communication and stakeholder engagement skills (E) ​ Personal Attributes ​ Excellent organisational and planning skills to cope with a varied workload and the ability to handle change and prioritise work accordingly (E) ​ Ability to work under pressure and prioritise work to meet deadlines (E) ​ Motivated and enthusiastic (E) ​ Committed to ensuring high standards (E) ​ Committed to values of openness, accessibility, honesty, integrity, respect for customers and colleagues (E) ​ Confident in own skills and abilities and able to work as part of a team or on own initiative (E) ​ ​ ​
