Mencap is seeking dedicated Female Waking Night Support Workers to join our team in York.
As a Female Waking Night Support Worker, you will play a vital role in ensuring the people we support feel safe, comfortable, and cared for throughout the night. Your responsibilities include offering reassurance, supporting overnight needs, and creating a peaceful environment.
This may involve listening, assisting with personal care, or simply being a calm presence, making a meaningful difference to those you support.
What we're looking for:
* A genuine passion for supporting others.
* Excellent communication skills and a calm, reassuring manner.
* Flexibility to work overnight shifts.
* A positive, empathetic attitude towards individuals with learning disabilities.
Contract options:
* Part-time: 10, 20, or 30 hours per week, with shifts on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
This is a waking night position, typically working between 22:00-08:00, with potential for additional hours in the evening and morning (19:00-09:00).
All roles are subject to an enhanced DBS check and suitable references.
*Due to the nature of this service, we are seeking female-only applicants. This post is exempt under the Equality Act 2010, Schedule 9, Part 1.
