Shared Service Manager – Revenues
Are you a strategic leader passionate about public service and operational excellence? Join our senior management team as a Shared Service Manager – Revenues within the Revenues & Benefits Shared Service.
About The Role
As a key leadership team member you will deliver the Council Tax and Business Rates functions efficiently across our shared service, managing multidisciplinary teams across multiple sites and remote settings while ensuring high performance, compliance, and excellent customer service.
* Oversee the collection of over £200 million in revenues and support benefit payments exceeding £60 million.
* Lead the administration and collection of Council Tax and National Non-Domestic Rates (NNDR).
* Ensure accurate maintenance of the tax base, collection fund records, and valuation lists.
* Drive performance, innovation and continuous improvement across the service.
* Liaise with internal and external stakeholders including government bodies and auditors.
* Support the Assistant Director and deputise as required.
What We’re Looking For
* At least 5 years of relevant management experience in Revenues and/or Benefits.
* Strong knowledge of Council Tax, NNDR and associated legislation.
* Proven leadership and team management skills across diverse operations.
* Excellent communication, analytical and decision‑making abilities.
* IRRV Technician qualification or equivalent experience is desirable.
