Business Development Manager – Midlands base – Up to £60,000
Location: Midlands – Hybrid / remote based.
Salary: Up to £60,000.
Additions: Car allowance & commission.
Key Responsibilities
* Identify and secure new business opportunities within the UK transport sector
* Develop and manage a strong sales pipeline across key industries (retail, FMCG, manufacturing, etc.)
* Promote full load, part load, and groupage transport services
* Drive growth in UK domestic transport, with added focus on UK‑Ireland freight lanes
* Build and maintain strong client relationships to ensure repeat business
* Conduct client meetings, presentations, and contract negotiations
* Collaborate with operations teams to ensure service delivery meets customer expectations
* Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and pricing strategies
* Achieve and exceed agreed sales targets and KPIs
* Maintain accurate records using CRM systems
Key Requirements
* Proven experience in business development within the UK transport/logistics sector
* Strong knowledge of UK road transport operations
* Experience selling transport solutions (FTL, LTL, groupage)
* Demonstrated ability to win new business and manage key accounts
* Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
* Self‑motivated with a results‑driven approach
* Full UK driving licence
* Experience with UK‑Ireland transport – desirable
* Knowledge of ferry routes, customs processes, and cross‑border logistics
* Existing network of clients requiring UK‑Ireland freight services
