Overview

An exciting opportunity exists for an enthusiastic, suitably qualified, experienced, and self-motivated Voice and Data (Network) Engineer to be based at Abergele/Bangor/Wrexham.

Working as a member of the Voice and Data team within the ICT department, the successful candidate will be responsible for the development, installation, and on-going operational management and support of the Health Board’s voice and data infrastructure.


Responsibilities

* Develop, install, and provide on-going operational management and support of the Health Board’s voice and data infrastructure.
* Provide specialist technical 3rd line support to departmental colleagues and 3rd party providers.
* May be required to work across all BCUHB sites and locations; must be able to access transport (public and/or private) to travel off site.


Qualifications and Skills

* Data Networking Technologies (including LAN and WAN)
* Network Protocols (TCP/IP and Ethernet)
* Voice and Video Communication Technologies
* Network Security Technologies (including Firewall and Intrusion Prevention Systems)
* Wireless Networking Technologies
* Excellent troubleshooting and interpersonal skills


Experience and Education

* Relevant Degree/HND and/or demonstrable equivalent experience


Desirable and Other Requirements

* The ability to speak Welsh is desirable; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
* Welsh language applications are not treated less favourably than English ones.
* The ability to travel to various sites across the BCUHB region is essential.
