Purpose of the Role
Deliver a world‑class short‑form video experience for audiences by redefining our video publishing tools. The role will help make editorial tools and workflows next‑generation, ready to scale with the BBC’s vision and the needs of modern audiences.

Your Key Responsibilities And Impact
* Partner with engineering, UX and editorial stakeholders to gather requirements, assess value, and prioritise initiatives that align with organisational goals.
* Leverage product skills to make informed decisions, evaluate trade‑offs, and communicate effectively across multidisciplinary teams.
* Execute go‑to‑market strategy: establish success metrics and KPIs that reflect business goals and audience satisfaction, monitor performance, and take action to improve.
* Define and commission user research, using the results to identify audience needs and new product opportunities.
* Influence and build trust with stakeholders of all levels, gaining their sponsorship for the product vision.
* Articulate how the roadmap advances the broader BBC product strategy.
Essential Criteria
* Demonstrable experience in product management, ideally within media streaming or content tooling.
* Experience leading complex software development programmes that bridge multiple teams and departments.
* Technical fluency – ability to engage confidently with engineering teams and understand systems and workflows.
* Skilled in prioritisation and value‑driven decision‑making, utilising data, user research and testing to analyse problems and balance user needs, technical constraints and strategic goals.
* Successful track record of shaping, launching and scaling complex products to market.
Desired But Not Required
* Technical understanding of how metadata can be used to define and extend digital media.
Interview Process
Two stages: first explores your approach to product management and alignment with BBC values; second includes a short written task and discussion to dive deeper on your experience. Interviews will be held via Microsoft Teams, with adjustments made to support participation if needed.
