Job Introduction
This is an exciting opportunity to join an established team at Harrow branch as a Corporate Banking Manager. The successful candidate will manage a portfolio of business customers across the full suite of corporate products and services, focusing on property lending customers as well as a mix of local trading businesses and non-borrowing customers. You will be responsible for all aspects of client relationships, including preparation of credit applications, financial and risk analysis, balance sheet analysis, annual reviews, monitoring of management accounts, covenant compliance and profitability. You will develop the portfolio to grow the business through interaction with existing customers and by winning and onboarding new customers, with a passion for customer service and a strong focus on profitability and business development.
Responsibilities
* Responsible for the maintenance and development of a portfolio of corporate customers. Build relationships with customers and ensure satisfaction through excellent customer service
* Identify, meet and win prospective new customers/introducers by outlining how we work and what we can offer in terms of service and facilities
* Complete credit applications and credit annual reviews in line with the Bank's Credit Policy
* Interpret financial information provided by customers, evaluate lending propositions, assess and formulate risk ratings, and structure transactions to ensure the right customer selection
* Develop and maintain a sound understanding of the local market, and maintain relationships with professional firms and introducers
* Attend suitable networking events and undertake focused business development activities
* Identify and offer customers, on a needs basis, the appropriate Handelsbanken products and services, effectively communicating relevant features, benefits and risks
* General administration, preparation/reviewing of legal documentation for accounts (including KYC/AML reviews), lending facilities and securities
Ideal Candidate
* A proven track-record in corporate relationship and portfolio management with an understanding of the Bank's Credit Policy and processes; take the initiative to drive performance and have demonstrable knowledge of the Bank's corporate product suite and competitor products; strong business development capabilities
* Ability to build strong professional relationships at all levels; effective interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal) essential
* Strong team player, flexible, proactive and conscientious with a positive attitude; able to work with integrity and discretion and under pressure
* Commitment to providing exceptional service with strong attention to detail and an organized approach, able to work with high accuracy
* Previous experience with lending documentation/security and AML/KYC procedures for business customers/transactions is advantageous
* High level of computer literacy (Microsoft Word and Excel) is essential; training will be provided on additional internal IT systems
