Hours: 37 per week

About the role:
We are currently seeking a passionate and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Trainer/Tutor with competencies in teaching a variety of Health and Safety courses, basic construction, first aid courses, and other similar short business relatable courses.
NPT Skills & Training Unit operate within Neath Port Talbot and across South Wales, delivering a variety of training programmes and are constantly developing their training provision and contracts.
The post holder will be funded for 1 year from commencement of post, to support a new project/initiative within the Skills & Training unit, to develop its business services. Therefore, the post holder will pay a crucial role in developing the project/initiative and supporting it to succeed.
As a Trainer/Tutor for the project/initiative, you will be required complete CPD and/or train/gain qualifications to be able to deliver courses and qualifications for Skills & Training. You will devise/design all related course materials and curriculum and deliver these to our learners for them to achieve/gain accredited or non-accredited qualifications/courses.
Your daily routine will require you to:
1. Design and deliver appropriate learning materials and resources to support new and established accredited course/qualifications delivered at Skills and Training.
2. To deliver and assess a wide range of training courses, accredited and non-accredited qualifications to various groups of both adults, young people aged 16-24 and school pupils.
3. To register, invigilate requires tests and assessments for qualifications, meeting awarding body guidelines. To use IT systems to complete and administer the testing process.
4. Maintain, update and complete appropriate documentation including, learning plans, learner assessment, data forms/information, relevant examination bodies& documentation and others as required.
5. Organise and deliver courses as required.
6. To ensure targets set by Skills and Training are met.
About you:
You will need to have previous experience at designing and delivering training/tutoring, in particular delivering accredited qualifications, with a wide age range from school pupils up to adult learners. You should also be aware of the barriers faced by different age groups and be able to overcome these with your learners. You should also have excellent customer facing/verbal/written communication skills. Due to the courses that we intend to deliver, experience within Construction, health and safety sectors is essential.
Do you have:
7. Possess Further Education Teaching Certificate or equivalent (such as PGCE/PTTLS/Level 3/cert ed etc)
8. A Health and Safety/construction qualification
9. First Aid qualifications or experience as a first aider
10. GCSE (or equivalent/higher) in Maths and English grade C and above/Level 2
11. Be in possession of, or working towards A1 and V1 awards/ TAQA and or verifier awards or equivalent
