An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Legal Assistant/Paralegal to join our growing housing business in our Stoke Office.
The principal purpose of the role is to work closely with and provide full Legal Assistant/Paralegal support to our legal department.
You should be self-motivated and proactive, with the ability to meet strict deadlines. You will need to have obtained a law degree or be working towards obtaining one, or have a background of working as a legal assistant.
Key Responsibilities Include:
1. Draft transfers of whole and part
2. Obtain land registry compliant plans from the Seddon wider team
3. Coordinate obtaining directors' signatures for transfers once approved
4. Make applications to register the transfers at the Land Registry
5. Monitor and follow up Land Registry applications, answering requisitions on title
6. Review the existing Section 106 agreement spreadsheet and report back to the legal team
7. Refine and condense the Section 106 agreement spreadsheet
8. Create a critical date list and incorporate these into the team’s diaries
9. Make and take phone calls and messages
10. Set up legal documents for development sites
11. Negotiate and complete Section agreements for each site

2. Reliability, trustworthiness, confidentiality, and discretion
3. A flexible and positive approach to work and colleagues
4. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
5. Full driving license
