The Children’s Integrated Therapy Service in Blackburn with Darwen is looking for an enthusiastic and motivated qualified Speech & Language Therapist (SLT) to join our experienced and friendly team. Experience working in paediatrics is desirable but not essential.
We work with children and young people aged 0‑19 years with communication needs and eating, drinking and swallowing difficulties. The Service offers clinical and management supervision, specialist support from senior staff, continuing professional development and specialist SLT forums.
The team comprises speech and language therapists and speech and language therapy assistants. We work closely with colleagues in health, education and social care to provide a genuinely child‑centred service across various locations, including clinics, children’s own homes, nurseries and schools.
Main duties
The successful candidate will effectively manage their own time, demonstrate excellent communication skills and have an interest in working with children and their families. A therapist with experience in eating, drinking and swallowing is desirable.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* Professional Degree or equivalent in Speech & Language Therapy
* Current Professional Registration with HCPC
* Evidence of continued professional development
Knowledge
* Understanding of clinical governance framework and implications for practice, including audit and research governance
* Knowledge of a broad range of assessment tools for children with diverse needs
* Knowledge of a range of therapy techniques and programmes for children with diverse needs and related to client group
Experience
* Evidence of recent and relevant postgraduate experience encompassing the specialist field of practice, demonstrating an in‑depth knowledge of specialist area
* Multi‑disciplinary/multi‑agency collaborative working
* Experience of working with children with complex needs and their families in community/non‑clinical setting
Employer certification / accreditation
You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
Legal and statutory
Knowledge of the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 is required and it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service.
