Teaching Personnel is recruiting for Behaviour Support Mentors to work in primary schools across Penzance and surrounding areas.
These are vital roles supporting pupils aged 4–11 who may find school challenging due to behavioural, emotional, or social needs. You will work alongside class teachers and support teams to help these pupils feel safe, supported, and ready to learn.

Who We’re Looking For:
To be eligible for this role, you must hold a Level 3 qualification in a relevant area such as:
* Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools
* Early Years Education
* Childcare and Education
* Primary Education Support (or equivalent)
We are looking for individuals who are:
* Calm, patient, and confident in working with young children
* Skilled in managing behaviour and promoting positive routines
* Passionate about helping children develop emotionally and socially
* Flexible and able to adapt to different pupils' needs
* Committed to building trusting relationships with children and staff

What You’ll Be Doing:
* Supporting individual children or small groups within the classroom
* Helping pupils manage their emotions and behaviour positively
* Assisting with learning activities and classroom routines
* Supporting with transitions, regulation breaks, and calming strategies
* Working with teachers and pastoral staff to track pupil progress and set goals
* Creating a nurturing, safe, and structured environment for learning

Experience We Welcome:
In addition to your Level 3 qualification, relevant experience in any of the following areas would be beneficial:
* Primary education support
* Special educational needs or learning difficulties
* Mental health or emotional wellbeing
* Behaviour mentoring or pastoral support
* Youth work, early years settings, or residential childcare
* Sports, creative, or outdoor-based education
