gap technical are seeking an Automated Warehouse Engineer to join our client.
This role offers the chance to be a key part of a fast-paced, high-tech logistics operation. As an Automated Warehouse Engineer, you will ensure the continuous running and efficiency of cranes, conveyors, elevators, shuttle cars, and the Logistics Rail Head, supporting a state-of-the-art warehousing environment.
Performance Objectives
Ensure smooth operation of the automated warehouse system.
Carry out all planned preventative maintenance safely and within set deadlines.
Diagnose and repair faults quickly to minimise downtime.
Maintain all warehouse plant and machinery, ensuring operational readiness.
Conduct weekly testing of sprinkler systems and pumps.
Drive continuous improvement of warehouse systems and processes.
Coordinate and oversee contractors on site, ensuring compliance with site rules and regulations.
Work collaboratively with Production, Despatch, and Filling teams to optimise performance.
Uphold health and safety standards, including safe equipment use, PPE compliance, accident/incident reporting, and housekeeping.Person Specification
Time-served in a recognised Apprenticeship in Electrical or Multi-skilled Engineering (Electrical/Mechanical).
Qualified to HNC/HND level in Electrical or Electrical/Mechanical Engineering.
Experience post-apprenticeship in a similar engineering environment.
Strong knowledge of three-phase motors, inverter drives, hoists, drive gearboxes, and PLC Siemens 7.
Welding and fabrication skills (advantageous for mechanical bias).
Previous experience in high-pressure logistics or warehouse environments, ideally in food, drinks, or packaging.
Experience with automated cranes and automated conveyor systems highly advantageous.
Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting ability.
Comfortable working at heights (up to 35m).
PC literate with excellent communication skills.
Able to work independently and as part of a team, with proven leadership capability.
