Job Description Job Title Project Controller Working Pattern Full time Working location Bristol or Derby – Hybrid What you will be doing The digital delivery team are accountable for managing the engineering and manufacturing digital portfolio and the delivery of a series of programmes / projects to develop our digital capability. This role will lead the ongoing delivery of digital capability across a variety of environments within the RR Group. We have a wide range of digital capability programmes ranging from major infrastructure and modernisation programmes to governing the development of digital products through agile sprints. The Project Controller will initially be focused on supporting the delivery of strategic Virtual Desktop Interface capability for the Defence division. Responsibilities As a Project Controller supporting IT capabilities at Rolls-Royce, you will play a vital role in ensuring the successful delivery of digital and technology-driven projects. You’ll work closely with Project Managers and stakeholders to apply robust project controls and governance practices that drive effective decision-making and delivery performance. Key responsibilities include: Monitor and report progress across cost, schedule, scope, and benefits, ensuring alignment with project baselines. Support the implementation and maintenance of project governance frameworks and controls in line with internal standards. Identify, assess, and track project risks, issues, and opportunities, supporting mitigation and escalation where required. Prepare accurate and timely status reports and dashboards for stakeholders and senior leadership. Work with project teams to analyse performance data, highlight variances, and recommend corrective actions where needed. Why Rolls-Royce? For this role, we’re seeking a detail-oriented and proactive individual with a strong foundation in project control, particularly within IT or digital transformation environments. To be considered for this role, you must meet the following essential criteria: Degree-level qualification or equivalent experience in a relevant field (e.g., IT, Business, Engineering, or Project Management) At least 1 year of experience supporting IT or digital projects, ideally in a project controls, PMO, or delivery role Working towards a recognised project management qualification (e.g., APM, PMI) or equivalent knowledge/experience Demonstrable knowledge of project lifecycle, planning, scheduling, and risk management Proficiency with project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Power BI, Excel) and strong data analysis/reporting skills Join us & help Rolls-Royce to become a high-performing, competitive, resilient business.
