We have a comprehensive global network of economic, political and investment decision-makers. OMFIF operates through four thematic institutes: the Economic and Monetary Policy Institute (EMP) convenes leaders from public and private sector institutions to discuss macroeconomic trends and shape the future of monetary policy and political economy; the Digital Monetary Institute explores the topic of payments, including digital currency as an alternative to cash, and brings together technologists and policy-makers at the heart of decisions relating to the future of finance. The Sustainable Policy Institute (SPI) focuses on sustainable finance, addressing the policy, regulatory and investment challenges posed by environmental, social and governance themes with those responsible for shaping the sustainability agenda; and the Sovereign Debt Institute convenes issuers across the global sovereign, supranational and agency debt community for high-level, strategic and constructive dialogue on the key issues each side faces.

The role
OMFIF plays a leading role in convening the public and private sectors to shape best practice in economic and financial policy through its membership networks, meetings, research and publications. This position sits within OMFIF’s Economic and Monetary Policy Institute (EMP), the organisation’s platform dedicated to monetary policy, macroeconomic developments, financial stability, public investment and regulatory issues.
This is primarily an events content producer role. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, curating and delivering a high-quality global programme of roundtables and policy discussions for senior policymakers and market participants. EMP convenes central banks, multilateral financial institutions, finance ministries, regulators, commercial banks, investors and advisers for candid, off-the-record dialogue on the most pressing economic and financial challenges of the day.
Amid heightened economic uncertainty and geopolitical tension, the ability to design relevant, timely and well-structured discussions is more important than ever. You will play a central role in shaping the intellectual direction of EMP’s meetings programme — identifying themes, crafting agendas, securing high-level speakers and ensuring each event delivers meaningful policy insight and engagement.
This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual with a strong interest in macroeconomics, monetary policy, political economy, geopolitics, public investment and sustainable finance. The role combines content production, policy research and senior stakeholder engagement, offering regular interaction with leading figures from central banks, finance ministries and global financial institutions.
Many alumni from this role have gone on to positions in central banks, government institutions and major financial organisations.
Responsibilities
* Lead the content production of approximately 25–30 high-level roundtables per year (virtual and in-person, typically 25 participants), from concept to delivery
* Research and identify timely and strategically relevant meeting themes aligned with EMP’s priorities
* Draft compelling, well-structured agendas and background briefs to frame senior-level discussions
* Source and secure high-level speakers across central banks, multilateral institutions, ministries of finance and regulatory bodies
* Build and maintain relationships with policymakers and senior financial market participants globally
* Collaborate closely with events co-ordinators, marketing, editorial and commercial teams to ensure seamless execution and strong audience engagement
* Track meetings, speaker engagement and stakeholder interactions via Salesforce and other CRM systems
* Provide on-site content oversight at domestic and international events as required
This role reports to the Senior Programme Manager and sits at the intersection of research, programming and stakeholder engagement.
Skills, experience and qualifications
* Demonstrable experience in conference production, programme curation or policy-focused event programming
* Strong interest in economics, monetary policy and financial markets, with enthusiasm to deepen subject expertise
* Excellent writing and agenda-setting skills, with the ability to distil complex policy issues into clear discussion frameworks
* Confidence engaging senior policymakers and financial leaders
* Strong interpersonal, organisational and administrative skills
* High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously
* Collaborative mindset and ability to work effectively across teams
* 2:1 undergraduate degree or higher in economics, finance, international relations, politics, political economy or a related field
* Prior experience in economics, finance, public policy or the public/third sector
* Topic research experience
* Familiarity with Salesforce or other CRM platforms
