Job Description
We are seeking a proactive and well-organised Administrator to support our architectural practice in Hertfordshire, with a primary focus on Harpenden and the surrounding local area. The role will involve managing relationships with local clients, supporting business development activities to identify and attract new clients, and providing administrative support to the Principal Architect, including diary and appointment management. This is a varied role suited to someone who is personable, organised, and confident engaging with clients and the local community.
An essential part of the role is to attend business networking events each week on a Tuesday morning from 6:30am - 9:30am. This is non-negotiable and is a key way the successful individual will manage and grow the client base in Harpenden and surrounding areas.
Other days of the week and hours are very flexible.
Duties
* Attending business networking events every Tuesday morning from 6:30am - 9am in Harpenden and follow up with meetings, 121s and calls as appropriate
* Diary management of the lead architects electronic diary
* Liaise with clients and potential clients, booking in appointments and following up on questions and leads.
* Organise and maintain files, records, and electronic documents
* Some data entry tasks
* Assist with scheduling appointments, meetings, and events, ensuring all details are correctly coordinated
* Prepare correspondence, reports, and presentations as required
* Provide excellent customer service and support to internal teams and external clients
Qualifications
* Prior office or administrative experience
* Experience of business development/working with external clients or business networking is essential
* Strong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google Workspace (Gmail, Drive)
* Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively
* Good typing speed and accuracy for data entry tasks
* Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly via phone and email with professionalism and courtesy
* Knowledge of clerical procedures and office management practices is desirable
* Ability to work independently
Location
The successful individual will be able to work from home for the majority of their working week, apart from Tuesday mornings 6:30am - 9am where they will be required at a business meeting in Harpenden.
