We are looking for an experienced Strategy and Policy Specialist to join our Strategic Design and Transition Programme, focusing on the implications of the Independent Water Commission report for the future of the Environment Agency.
Responsibilities
 * Provide high quality, evidence‑based advice to support future thinking in line with the IWC report recommendations.
 * Engage with colleagues across Government, the EA, and other regulators to ensure collaborative development of strategy.
 * Challenge assumptions and bring diverse thinking to a fast‑moving working environment.
 * Support other projects and workstreams within the programme as required.
 * Actively contribute to a high‑performing, agile team capable of thriving under high demand and ambiguity.
Experience and Skills Required
 * Experience developing policy at central government, working with specialists such as economists and scientists.
 * Strategic thinking and the ability to act at a strategic level.
 * Excellent communication and engagement skills, with the ability to translate complex issues into clear, targeted advice at short notice.
 * Experience working across boundaries and influencing at all levels.
