The School is based in Colchester and is looking for an organised, proactive and dependable individual to support the Science department across KS3–KS5. Experience and Responsibilities Preparing, setting up and clearing away equipment and materials for Science lessons Maintaining laboratory equipment and ensuring all resources are stored safely and correctly Supporting Biology, Chemistry and Physics practical work across KS3–KS5 Ensuring all COSHH, Health & Safety and risk assessment procedures are followed Assisting teachers with demonstrations and practical activities where required Organising stock levels, ordering replenishments and maintaining a well-organised prep room Supporting the wider Science department in creating an efficient, positive working environment Experience and Qualifications A science-related degree, laboratory experience or previous school technician experience is desirable Strong organisation, attention to detail and communication skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Understanding of safe working practices in a lab setting A positive, reliable and proactive approach to supporting teaching and learning Salary The salary for this Science Technician position will be paid in line with the school’s support staff pay scale.
