Your Impact
As a highly skilled Senior Electronics Design Engineer you will be involved in the design and development of our new products to market working in a multi-disciplinary systems engineering team environment. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience working on electronic design from conception to completion in an NPI environment. The role requires a deep understanding of electronic components, systems, testing, and manufacturing processes.
Working in an agile project execution environment you will be a self-motivated creative problem solver, a team player with a curiosity to learn who accepts challenges in a fast-paced environment.
Here’s where you’ll demonstrate your competencies:
·Good verbal and written communication skills.
·Experience working within a multi-functional team on development of new or enhancing existing components/assemblies/products in and agile / scrum environment.
·Methodological approach to problem solving.
·Excellent understanding of electronic analogue and digital circuit design and development from concept to detailed design.
·Experience designing mixed signal systems.
·Experienced with circuit simulation tools (LT Spice, Microcap).
·Experienced with schematic and PCB design tools (preferably Altium).
·Define and optimise manufacturing processes for assemblies, including PCB Fabrication, component assembly, and testing.
·Conduct design reviews and provide input to ensure manufacturability, testability, and reliability of electronic designs.
·Evaluate and qualify electronic components and suppliers, ensuring compliance with quality and performance requirements.
·Develop and maintain documentation including schematic design, change records, BoM’s, assembly procedures, test plans.
·Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the NPI process, reduce costs, and to improve product quality and reliability.
·Provide mentorship and technical support to junior engineers.
Qualifications & Experience
·Batchelors Degree in Electronic Engineering or related field; Masters degree preferred
·Minimum of 5 years experience in electronics design and NPI, preferably at a senior level
·Excellent knowledge of electronic components and circuit design using analogue and digital electronics
·Proficient in electronic software design packages such as Altium
·Experience with manufacturing processes for electronic assemblies, including PCB fabrication, and testing
·Knowledge of industry standards and regulations for electronic products
·Excellent problem solving skills
·Experience of RF design (nice to have)
·Microprocessor knowledge and experience would be beneficial
·Interface / Protocol Development – RS232, RS484, TCP/IP, UDP, 4-20mA
·Interface to motherboards – Qseven or similar
·Member of a professional institute, preferably Chartered Engineer or working towards Chartership
