Are you an experienced and compassionate Teaching Assistant looking to support young people in a high school setting?We are currently recruiting on behalf of a forward-thinking and inclusive secondary school in Lancaster for a Teaching Assistant to work with students who have Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. This is a long-term opportunity starting in September 2025, with the potential to become permanent.Your new roleProvide 1:1 and small group support to students with SEND and SEMH needsAssist in delivering tailored interventions and learning strategiesWork collaboratively with teaching staff, SENCOs, and external professionalsHelp create a safe, supportive, and engaging learning environmentMonitor student progress and contribute to review meetings and reportsWhat you'll need to succeedExperience supporting students with SEND and/or SEMH in a secondary school or similar settingConfident, resilient, and empathetic approach to behaviour and emotional supportExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsRelevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2/3 TA, Youth Work, Psychology, or similar) are advantageous.What you'll get in returnCompetitive daily rate dependent on experience.Opportunity to make a significant impact on students' lives.Supportive and collaborative work environment.Potential for the role to extend beyond the initial temporary period.
