We are recruiting for a Pharmacy Technician who shares our vision to be trusted to provide consistently outstanding care and exemplary service to our patients.
You will be expected to work closely with nursing and medical staff and patients. Supported by a team of oncology pharmacy staff to deliver pharmaceutical services to patients on day case units and wards. Applicants with retail pharmacy background are welcome. The department offers excellent education and training support.
Responsibilities
* Dispense prescriptions for in‑patients and out‑patients, including clinical trial medication, and conduct final checks in accordance with the department’s accreditation scheme.
* Assist the pharmacy technician team manager or deputy with dispensary activities as designated.
* Participate in the "topping‑up" service, supplying stocks of medicinal products to wards and departments and providing a non‑stock top‑up service to one‑stop wards.
* Assist with purchasing according to departmental procedures and the departmental rota.
* Provide counselling and information to patients/carers collecting medication from the dispensary, covering prescription payment, exemption, and further supplies.
* Collaborate with nursing and medical staff to support patient care on day case units and wards.
Compensation
In addition, you will receive a High‑Cost Area Supplement of 15% of your basic salary, subject to a minimum payment of £4,552 and a maximum payment of £5,735 per annum pro rata.
