Job Title: Events and Community Engagement Officer
Renfrewshire Council is seeking an enthusiastic and dynamic Events and Community Engagement Officer to join our events team. The role involves supporting the delivery of a diverse portfolio of events and projects across Renfrewshire.
The successful candidate will play a key role in developing and maintaining relationships with local cultural and community groups to create a vibrant cultural calendar across town centres, while also delivering the council-led events programme.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Engage with community groups and volunteers to support event delivery.
2. Manage relationships with stakeholders across the public, private, and third sectors.
3. Coordinate programming, delivery, and management of large-scale public events.
4. Manage project budgets and seek cultural funding opportunities.
5. Ensure health and safety legislation compliance for all events.
6. Work flexibly, including evenings and weekends, across multiple locations.
Essential Skills and Experience:
* Recent experience working with volunteers in a community engagement setting.
* Management skills within the cultural, community, and volunteering sectors.
* Experience in live event programming and project management.
* Effective communication and organizational skills.
* Knowledge of health and safety legislation related to events.
* Ability to work under pressure and self-motivate.
* Experience managing budgets and accessing cultural funding is desirable.
* Understanding of local authority operations and service delivery issues is desirable.
* Flexible approach to work schedule, including evenings and weekends.
