Occupational Therapist

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and enthusiastic Occupational Therapist to be part of the AMH Community Rehabilitation Team at Hampshire and Isle of Wight Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust.
You will be part of the Community Intensive Rehabilitation Team (CIRT) which provides a range of rehabilitation focused assessment and intervention for adults with severe and enduring mental health problems who are based in the community.
You will work alongside a welcoming and friendly multi‑disciplinary team consisting of Occupational Therapists, Social Workers, a psychology lead, and experienced support workers.
We are looking for someone with an understanding of the recovery model and a rehabilitation focused approach. You will need to be interested and passionate about providing a high quality Occupational Therapy in a mental health setting.
Your responsibilities will include supporting service users in achieving their goals and exploring occupations that will enable them to develop new skills and manage the symptoms of their mental health problems.
You will have the opportunity to attend our 5 modules psychological therapies training which includes behavioural activation, counselling, motivational interviewing, anxiety management and DBT techniques. There may be opportunities for OT specific training such as AMPS and MOCA.
Main duties of the job
* Act as a key resource for the Occupational Therapy needs of the wider caseload.
* Build relationships with service users to form an effective, efficient and recovery focused approach.
* Ensure maintenance of a high standard of care to working age adults with severe and enduring mental health difficulties, reducing social inequality and promoting choice and dignity.
* Provide occupational focused assessment, formulation, care plan, and intervention to patients with complex functional needs in their own homes and communities.
* Evaluate OT interventions and consider ongoing needs of the patient and identify opportunities for longer term support when required.
* Develop, facilitate and evaluate a group work programme.
* Participate in case review and debriefing activities as required.
* Participate in group/unit discussions that review current practice.
* Contribute to the development of programmes of care/care packages providing specialist advice where relevant.
* Fully adhere to the Solent NHS trust Integrated Clinical and Safeguarding Supervision policy along with Safeguarding Children and adult policies, and information sharing protocols to ensure the health and well‑being of children and adults at risk.
* Familiarity with the requirements of the Mental Capacity Act and maintain MCA mandatory training.

Qualifications
* Degree level or higher in Occupational Therapy
Experience
* Experience working in a mental health setting; experience of working as part of a multidisciplinary team
