Business Support Administrator

Role Overview
Provide a confidential proactive administration service to the joint digital support services, including room bookings, maintaining office systems, distribution of post, receiving and processing deliveries and supporting the Business Support Manager in building management activities related to Maglona House. Communicate information between the team, meet deadlines, and manage own work on a day‑to‑day basis under the guidance of the Business Support Manager.
Main duties of the job
Support the Associate Director, Heads of Service and Business Support Manager with all aspects of administration for Digital Programmes and the Digital Healthcare Team, including building management for Maglona House.
Responsible for room bookings, office system maintenance, post distribution, deliveries, diary management, minute taking, and coordinating meetings and events.
Qualifications
* GCSE or equivalent in English and Maths at 'C' or above
* NVQ2 in Business Administration or equivalent
* NVQ3 in Business Administration or equivalent
* IT skills with Access, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, Outlook
* ECDL/Advanced ECDL
* RSA 111 or equivalent word‑processing qualification
Knowledge & Experience
* Previous experience of providing secretarial/clerical/admin support
* Experience arranging meetings, workshops, events and coordinating follow‑up actions
* Minute taking, diary management, and electronic diaries
* Good understanding of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
* Experience working within NHS/Local Authority environment
* Fire Warden
* Previous project and programme administration experience
* Experience with SharePoint, service improvement tools, and methodologies
* Knowledge of information governance, cyber security, health & safety, and fire safety requirements
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Problem‑solving, decision‑making and prioritisation
* Ability to build positive working relationships internally and externally
* Self‑motivated, works independently and as part of a team
* Professional handling of queries and understanding operational and corporate needs
Other Requirements
* Prioritise own work to meet deadlines under pressure with minimal supervision
* Flexibility to meet service needs, including occasional out‑of‑hours working
* Ability to travel independently across West, North and East Cumbria on a regular basis

* Valid driving licence

Salary: £25,760 to £27,476 a year (pro‑rata)
