A unique public-sector organisation in Deeside is seeking an experienced Procurement Manager to join their team on an initial 3-month contract to support in the interim. The role may be extended beyond April, and there may even be an opportunity for a permanent position thereafter.
Your new role
As interim Procurement Manager, you’ll providemercial and procurement leadership across contract sourcing, management, and category strategy. You’ll oversee a portfolio of contracts, ensuringpliance with regulations and successful delivery of business objectives. Key responsibilities include negotiating terms, managingplex agreements, and settingmercial strategies, while fostering collaboration across teams.
You’ll also lead and mentor a team of procurement professionals, ensuring assurance and due diligence within your area. The position involves managing activities such as procurement, product repairs and modifications, and technical support in a highly regulated environment. Occasional travel to supplier sites may be required, though much engagement is virtual.
Please note that this role offers hybrid working with 2 days per week from home, and 3 days in the office – however, at the start of the contract, you will be expected to be in the office more frequently whilst training and induction takes place.
What you'll need to succeed
1. A proven background in a procurement management / senior capacity, ideally within another public-sector organisation
2. Experience of managing and leading a team
3. Minimum CIPS Level 4 qualified
4. Available to start this contract in early February 2026
5. Strongmercial acumen
6. Excellent stakeholder engagement and management skills
