SEMH Teaching Assistants – Plymouth
Full-Time or Part-Time | Start ASAP or January 2026
We are looking for compassionate and resilient SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) Teaching Assistants to join schools in Plymouth. This is a rewarding opportunity to support students who face social, emotional, and behavioural challenges, helping them thrive in education and beyond.
Role Overview:
1. Provide one-to-one and small group support for students with SEMH needs.
2. Assist teachers in creating a positive and inclusive learning environment.
3. Implement strategies to manage behaviour and promote emotional wellbeing.
4. Build strong, trusting relationships with students to encourage engagement.
What We’re Looking For:
5. Experience working with children or young people with SEMH needs (desirable but not essential).
6. Patience, empathy, and resilience.
7. Strong communication and teamwork skills.
8. Ability to remain calm and supportive in challenging situations.
