Description The Board of NHS Highland is looking for two new Non-Executive Members to join its Board. We are looking for one Member with audit and risk experience and one Member who will serve as a General Member. NHS Highland is a complex organisation delivering a comprehensive range of primary, community-based and acute hospital services, with the objective of improving the health and wellbeing of the resident population and providing excellent healthcare services. We spend over £1 billion per annum and employ over 10,500 staff working in locations stretching from Caithness to Campbeltown. Having a diverse Board improves decision making and builds a vibrant and creative environment which is responsive to the changing demands on the health and care system and the needs of all the communities which we serve. We welcome applications from the widest possible range of people, who meet the requirements of the roles as set out in the person specification and who can bring wide and varied perspectives to our work. Although each of the roles we are seeking to fill requires particular experience, those appointed will also be expected to make a full contribution to the work of the Board, including participation in its various governance committees and the Highland Health & Social Care Partnership’s Integration Joint Board. You will be offered the training you need to make a strong contribution. Responsibilities Remuneration and time commitment : The remuneration for these two roles is based on the requirements for one day (8 hours) per week at £276 per day. The rate is £14,352 per annum, which is non-pensionable. This remuneration will rise to £312 per day in April 2026 and £342 per day in April 2027. Reasonable expenses incurred will be reimbursed. Location : The Board offices are based at Assynt House, Beechwood Park, Inverness. The meetings of the Board and its committees are normally held virtually, although some development work may be held in person in locations across the Board area. Interviews : Interviews will be held on 30 June, 1 and 2 July and will be conducted virtually. It is unlikely that we will be able to offer an alternative interview date.
