Job Description
This role involves managing a team of water meter engineers within the Water Metering contract for STW. The focus is on delivering successful metering projects while maintaining high standards of Customer Service and Health and Safety.
Key Responsibilities
1. Organise labour efficiently, including recruitment and absence management.
2. Manage resources such as materials and plant.
3. Coach and develop staff to reach their potential.
4. Conduct team briefings and monitor staff performance according to specifications and instructions.
5. Liaise with clients and other stakeholders, including arranging and attending programme meetings.
6. Meet client requirements cost-effectively and provide progress updates.
7. Engage with councils, surveyors, site managers, and client staff as required.
8. Maximise plant and vehicle utilisation and control wastage of materials.
9. Own the overall process, implement efficient working methods, and oversee plant responsibility.
10. Liaise with and manage subcontractors, ensuring compliance with Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality policies.
11. Act as a Health & Safety Representative, conducting inspections, raising safety matters, and investigating incidents.
12. Utilise the GARD system to organise work, reduce costs, and ensure smooth daily operations.
13. Control plant sheets, ensuring accurate logging and collation of information.
14. Require experience and qualifications in utilities, finance, and commercial awareness, with excellent communication skills and a full UK driving licence.
