Amazon is seeking an Operation Team Lead for its Transportation team. In this role, you will work closely with fulfillment centers (FCs), sort centers (SCs), last mile (LM) logistics partners, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth management of line haul operations across Amazon's middle mile network. The Team Lead will serve as the first point of contact for operational escalations, engaging with stakeholders to resolve issues and prevent recurrence. Additionally, the role involves managing a team of L2 and PA, and driving deployment of solutions from various improvement initiatives such as VRID hygiene, accruals enhancement, in-transit loss reduction, safety culture development for drivers, truck utilization improvement, and new projects like Totes and PFS at the zonal level. In BAU, the role requires shift rosters to monitor operations and work on improvement projects.
Essential Functions
* Carrier management and coordination with NOC & carriers
* Implementing GB development initiatives
* Driving improvement opportunities such as truck utilization, carrier arrival performance, and accident analysis
* Preparing for weekly business reviews (WBR)
* Ad-hoc planning and analysis of BAU operations
* Collaborating with SLP & carriers to reduce in-transit losses
* Engaging with safety teams to improve yard and road safety
* Driving R4D training and adoption with carriers
* Managing invoice queries and PO processes
* Preparing accruals and maintaining route and distance data
* Driving R4C adoption to enhance carrier experience
* Aligning vehicle fleet plans with stakeholders
* Preparing inputs for automated planning tools and analyzing outputs
* Conducting lane-level cube analysis for planning accuracy
* Managing Prime Now & WHT fleet planning, accruals, and new arc launches
* Executing data analysis and new projects like SFC and Totes
* Launching new SC, FC, and stations, including pilot runs and fleet planning
* Managing ART events, including training, rerouting, breakdown recovery, and vendor control tower staffing
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
* Bachelor's degree
* Fluent in English (speaking, reading, writing)
* Experience with Microsoft Office applications
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
* Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related fields
