We deliver engaging, high-quality computing lessons, after-school clubs, and holiday programmes that blend fun with future-focused learning. Our specialist code coaches are fully trained and DBS-checked, partnering with primary schools to make the national computing curriculum engaging, accessible, and enjoyable for pupils. We support children in building digital confidence, creativity, and problem-solving skills, preparing them for education, employment, and life.
Role Description
We are looking to hire an Assistant Code Coach to
start immediately
with the first after school club beginning on Monday 15th September.
The Assistant Code Coach is a casual hours, on-site role located at primary schools in Derby and surrounding areas. The Assistant Code Coach will support the delivery of engaging computing and coding after school clubs. Responsibilities include assisting with classroom management, aiding in the set up and tidy up of each session, and providing hands-on support to students during coding and computing activities. The role also involves ensuring a safe and supportive learning environment for all participants.
This role would be well-suited for those on their journey towards completing their teaching qualification, or have a desire to start one. It could also be suited to someone with coding experience who wants to pass on their skills to the next generation of digital citizens.
A desire and motivation for job progression, working towards becoming a Head Coach, would be welcome.
Current available hours
on our after school clubs are:
Monday 2:45-4:45pm
Wednesday 3-5pm
Thursday 3-5pm
Friday 3-5pm
The business is growing fast and more hours may be available in the near future, including during school holiday clubs.
Starting wage
aligns with National Minimum Wage, which will increase as the candidate's responsibilities progress within the role.
Skills Required
Some knowledge
* of computing and coding, or an interest in this area and a motivation for knowledge/skill development
* Experience working with children and creating engaging educational content is desirable
* Ability to assist with classroom management and provide hands-on support
* Strong communication and teamwork skills
* Ability to inspire and motivate children
* Huge passion for technology and education
* DBS check required (if candidate does not currently hold a DBS, we will apply for one)
* Relevant teaching qualifications are desirable but not essential
* Candidates must have access to a car to travel to venues as they may be required to transport laptops and othwr equipment
