Role Overview
Farm Fitness is seeking an experienced and driven Gym Manager to lead the day-to-day management of our brand-new indoor/ outdoor fitness facility at Tewinbury Farm Hotel.
This is a senior leadership position responsible for overseeing all aspects of gym performance, including operations, coaching standards, member experience and team development. The successful candidate will play a key role in establishing Farm Fitness at Tewinbury as a premium wellness destination, ensuring the facility operates to the highest professional standards while delivering an exceptional experience for members and hotel guests.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Management
* Oversee the day-to-day operation of the facility, scheduling, service delivery and staffing, while reporting to Farm Fitness HQ management.
* Deliver a minimum of three fitness classes per day, maintaining high coaching standards and member engagement.
* Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations and operational standards.
* Maintain exceptional standards of facility presentation, cleanliness, and functionality, working in close collaboration with the wider Tewinbury team.
* Implement efficient operational processes to support business growth and scalability.
Leadership & Team Management
* Manage and develop a high-performing team of fitness professionals.
* Set clear performance expectations, coaching standards, and operational protocols.
* Conduct regular performance reviews and support ongoing professional development.
* Foster a culture of professionalism, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Member Experience & Retention
* Own and enhance the end-to-end member journey from enquiry to onboarding and retention.
* Ensure consistently high standards of service, engagement, and satisfaction.
* Develop and manage systems for member communication, progress tracking, and ongoing support.
* Monitor engagement and retention metrics to drive continuous improvement.
Commercial Performance & Growth
* Work collaboratively with Farm Fitness and Tewinbury leadership teams to achieve membership and revenue targets.
* Support sales and marketing initiatives, including facility tours, trials, and onboarding.
* Analyse key performance indicators related to membership growth, retention, and utilisation.
* Contribute to strategic planning and business development.
Community & Brand Representation
* Lead and support the delivery of events, workshops, and member engagement initiatives.
* Act as a brand ambassador for Farm Fitness and Tewinbury, upholding professional standards.
* Build and nurture a strong, inclusive, and results-driven fitness community.
Person Specification
Essential
* Proven experience in a senior fitness leadership role.
* Demonstrable experience managing and developing a team.
* Strong operational management skills with experience in facility oversight and compliance.
* Track record of driving member engagement, retention, and performance outcomes.
* Experience working with KPIs, reporting, and performance management systems.
Desirable
* Background in functional fitness, group training, or performance-based coaching.
* Experience in sales, lead generation, or membership acquisition.
* Knowledge of outdoor or hybrid training environments.
