About the role
This role is a for a 2nd Line Engineer experienced within the Finance Sector required in Canon Street up to £43k, office based.
This role will provide 2nd line internal and external support to end users and clients, with some 2nd line support with 3rd line when necessary. Assist IT support manager with IT hardware and software related projects.
Responsibilities
Business
1. To ensure the Firm’s I.T. infrastructure functions smoothly both in London and remotely in other locations
2. To make recommendations for improvement where appropriate
3. To be the expert in own area of specialisation
4. Role is office based with 5 days being present in the London office
5. Some shift work might be required to cover morning hours shift from 7AM
Technical
6. To be familiar with the operational characteristics of all the Firm’s systems
7. To Provide 1st & 2nd (when necessary) line support logging via Bloomberg, Symphony and Zendesk.
8. To keep abreast of technological and market developments and make recommendations to the Service Desk Support Manager/Head of I.T. where they might be of use to the Firm
Interaction with users and suppliers
9. To be positive and pro-active when dealing with queries and problems with staff
10. To treat all suppliers fairly and professionally
Key requirements
11. Experience of working in a Service Desk environment
12. Experience of using a Service Desk application
13. Excellent communication skills
14. Basic understanding of a computer network
15. Windows 10/11 experience
16. MS Office support and use skills
17. Experience in desk phone telecommunicates

18. Preferably educated to Degree/A Level/HND/City & Guilds or equivalent
19. Familiar with ITIL best practices
