What is the job?
The HR Advisor supports the HR Manager in delivering an efficient, effective, and compliant HR Service. This role provides professional, confidential, and proactive HR support across the organisation. The role supports managers and employees on all HR matters, ensuring policies are applied consistently, supporting employee relations cases, and contributing to the effective delivery of HR services.
What will you be doing in this role?
Employee Relations
1. Provide accurate and timely advice to managers on HR policies, procedures and employment legislation.
2. Support and manage employee relations cases including sickness absence, disciplinary, grievance, capability and performance matters.
3. Attend and support formal meetings, hearings, and investigations.
4. Maintain up-to-date case notes and ensure documentation is compliant.
5. Comply with the Company Health & Safety Policy, including carrying out general housekeeping to ensure work areas are tidy.
HR Administration & Compliance
6. Produce letters, contracts and contract amendments.
7. Ensure HR processes comply with legal, regulatory and audit requirements.
Learning & Development
8. Identify training needs through performance discussions and ER cases.
9. Support the coordination of training programs.
Policy & Process Improvement
10. Assist in reviewing and updating HR policies and procedures, ensuring they comply with legal requirements.
11. Contribute to projects and initiatives aimed at improving HR service delivery.
Performance & Development
12. Support the performance management process, including reviewing objectives, probation feedback and development plans.
General HR Duties
13. Respond to routine HR enquiries from employees and managers.
14. Support HR initiatives including well-being and engagement.
15. Provide cover for the HR Manager during periods of absence when appropriate.
Recruitment Support
16. Support recruitment campaigns including reviewing job descriptions and advertising roles.
17. Conduct interviews with managers and support the selection processes.
18. Oversee onboarding and induction processes to ensure new starters have a positive experience.
Skills and requirements
19. Previous experience in an HR Advisor/Senior HR Advisor role.
20. Excellent knowledge of employment law and HR best practice.
21. Experience handling complex employee relations cases.
22. Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills.
23. Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.
24. Experience using HR information systems.
25. Ability to work with discretion and maintain confidentiality.
Qualifications
26. A qualification in HR e.g. CIPD Level 5 as a minimum.

Other Information
32. Part-time hours working 22.5 hours per week, either 3 full days or 5 days working 4.5 hours per day.
