 
        
        Hales Group is happy to be working with their client to assist them in finding a Site Technician/Plant Operator. This company is one of the leaders in the renewable energy market as a significant contributor to the production of biomass energy for the home market. 
To be successful in this role, ideally you will have experience with performing maintenance task on machinery within the energy sector, however the company will be open to discussions from candidates with a plant/production background and have some experience with mechanical and/or electrical knowledge; along with fault finding capabilities. 
 
 Job Purpose
 
 Assisting the Production Team Leader in the safe and efficient running of the plant, you will undertake inspection and operational duties, which include plant monitoring and basic maintenance of machinery to ensure maximum plant availability and performance. 
This role is based on a shift pattern to cover a 24-hour operation.
 
 Salary and Hours
Starting from £32,000 per annum but may be negotiable for the right skills.

 Key Responsibilities
Perform routine operational tasks and inspections to ensure plant efficiency and safety. 
Operate plant machinery and equipment in line with established operational procedures. 
Conduct frontline maintenance activities following approved processes and safety standards. 
Investigate equipment issues and contribute to identifying effective solutions. 
Complete pre-start checks, as well as commissioning and decommissioning procedures. 
Ensure clear, accurate, and concise shift handovers to maintain operational continuity. 
Assist the Production Team Leader in preparing safety documentation and permits. 
Collaborate effectively with the shift team to support safe and efficient plant operations. 
Adhere strictly to all safety protocols and working practices. 
Provide support and cover for duties within the fuel and ash handling team. 
 Candidate Attributes
Mechanical and electrical knowledge, preferably from the power/energy sector, but not essential. 
Experience in maintenance and fault finding. 
Willingness to learn and progress. 
Physically fit, as you will be on your fit for long periods of time. 
Degree or similar in engineering, preferred.
