* Rate: £500-550/day (negotiable)
Overview: We're looking for a Cisco Subject Matter Expert to support the design, deployment, and management of complex network infrastructure. You'll bring deep technical knowledge of Cisco technologies, acting as a go-to expert across multiple projects and teams.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the design and implementation of Cisco-based network solutions (LAN/WAN/Wi-Fi)
* Troubleshoot and resolve high-level network issues
* Provide expert input on infrastructure projects and proposals
* Collaborate with security, infrastructure, and cloud teams to ensure robust and secure network designs
* Maintain detailed technical documentation
* Offer mentoring and knowledge transfer to internal teams
Key Skills & Experience
* Strong hands-on experience with Cisco routing, switching, and firewalls
* Deep understanding of protocols such as BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, and MPLS
* Experience with Cisco ISE, ASA, Meraki, and Nexus platforms
* Solid understanding of network security best practices
* Familiarity with network monitoring and management tools
* Cisco certifications (e.g. CCNP, CCIE) preferred
* Experience working in enterprise or government environments is a plus
