Are you an experienced Cost Engineer looking to join a large, multi‑disciplinary engineering and maintenance provider delivering projects across highly regulated sectors? The Role - Cost Engineer
As a Cost Engineer, you will support the commercial and project teams with accurate financial data, cost analysis, forecasting, and reporting. Your work will contribute directly to project performance, value management and commercial governance.
Key Responsibilities Include:
Providing key financial data for internal month‑end P&L submissions
Remeasurement and verification of BOQ updates
Monitoring and forecasting actual costs vs budget
Conducting risk analysis, including best case, worst case and most likely scenarios
Managing cost provisions and accruals for materials, subcontractors, plant, and services
Weekly cost ledger analysis using SAP, Power BI and associated financial systems
Understanding subcontract agreements to support robust commercial management
Managing Early Warning notifications from subcontractors
Value determination including cost‑to‑date and forecast‑to‑complete
Leading change management processes, including compensation event assessment and client notifications
Compiling data for inclusion in main payment applications
Facilitating subcontractor progress and update meetings
Agreeing subcontractor valuations and issuing payment certificates
Producing cashflow forecasts
Supporting commercial audits of subcontractors, payment applications, rates and claims
Identifying opportunities to improve project contribution margin
Experience & Skills Required:
Strong experience working under NEC4 Option B contracts
Knowledge of the NAECI Agreement
Background in major construction or engineering projects
Understanding of the Standard Method of Measurement
Contractor‑side commercial management experience
Ability to interpret financial data and provide actionable insight
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
